Trump blasts Kamala Harris as a 'defective person' following CNN interview
Trump slammed Harris's performance in the interview during an appearance at the "Mom's For Liberty" summit in Washington D.C.
Former President Donald Trump on Friday night referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as a "defective person" after she gave a critical interview on Thursday.
The vice president gave her first official interview as the Democratic nominee for president to CNN on Thursday night, alongside her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Harris became the Democratic nominee earlier this month after President Joe Biden dropped his bid for a second term in July and endorsed her.
Trump slammed Harris's performance in the interview during an appearance at the "Mom's For Liberty" summit in Washington D.C.
"[Harris] didn't do a lot of interviews, but she's not good at it, I guess," Trump said. "I think she would have been better off if she just did interviews, even if they weren't great. It would have been better because now everyone's watching, and now we see she's defective. She's a defective person, and we don't need another defective person as President of the United States, we just had that."
Trump also blasted CNN anchor Dana Bash as the interviewer, claiming she was "extremely easy" during the segment, and didn't ask any hardball questions.
"There was no like, 'why aren't you doing this?' Or, 'why did you say 1,000 times that there'll be no fracking in Pennsylvania, and then all of a sudden say, oh, we'll have fracking,'" Trump said.
The former president additionally joked that he would send Harris a "MAGA hat" because she has "flip-flopped" on so many issues that it sounds like she loves his ideas. One thing Trump has accused Harris of stealing is his desire to cut taxes on tips, which Harris has also supported.
Trump also released an ad after Harris's CNN interview, blasting her as "Failed. Weak. Dangerously liberal."
