Trump calls CBS's O'Donnell 'disgrace' for reading allegations from alleged shooter's manifesto
The president said that CBS News correspondent Norah O'Donnell should be "ashamed" and called her a "disgrace" for repeating the allegations.
President Donald Trump lashed out Sunday at CBS News correspondent Norah O'Donnell after she read allegations from the alleged White House Correspondents’ Dinner gunman's manifesto that appear to suggest Trump is a "rapist."
Cole Allen, who is accused of carrying out the shooting at the event Saturday, sent messages to family and friends just before his thwarted armed attempt. The writings included multiple references to Trump without naming him directly and cited grievances tied to various administration actions and recent events.
O'Donnell asked about statements Allen made that he was "no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist and traitor to coat my hands with crimes."
Trump replied: "You're horrible people" and said he's not a pedophile nor has he raped anyone.
"You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all – stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with ... Epstein or other things," Trump said.
