Trump calls out Biden over past remarks about Chinese spy balloon

Former President Donald Trump ripped into President Joe Biden on Monday over his successor’s remarks about the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down earlier this year. 

According to Fox News, Biden said over the weekend that the spy balloon incident was “more embarrassing than it was intentional."

“It’s such a stupid statement,” Trump said during his interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier.

“They would have never had a spy balloon if I was president. There wouldn’t be a spy balloon over our country,” Trump argued.

Earlier this year, a Chinese spy balloon was spotted entering American airspace and was eventually shot down by the military after it traversed the country and moved out over the Atlantic Ocean.

China contended the balloon was a civilian meteorological research platform and objected to it being shot down. 

“That spy balloon was going over our nuclear sites taking pictures and we killed it after it had — it was leaving, going back home to China, wherever it was going," Trump said. "But we shot it down over the ocean after it had done all of its work. They don’t keep it on the balloon and you pick it up. That stuff is sent back to China instantaneously as it’s taken.”
