President Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed incredulity after a Tuesday evening series of drone strikes saw several Russian drones briefly veer into Polish airspace.

"What’s with Russia violating Poland’s airspace with drones? Here we go!" Trump posted on Truth Social.

The Russian government has denied any plans to target Polish territory, though European leaders have pointed out that the drones need not have ventured into Polish airspace at all in order to reach Ukraine, the BBC reported.

Poland is a member of NATO, unlike Ukraine. Consequently, an attack on Polish territory could trigger Article V and result in the bloc entering the conflict. That is not expected to occur, however.
