Trump dropped out of '60 Minutes' interview: report
Trump's campaign argued that there was nothing "locked in" for this particular interview.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump pulled out of an interview with "60 Minutes" that was expected to run next week, according to reports.
CBS News reported that both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris were supposed to sit down for separate "60 Minutes" interviews that would have aired next week, according to The Hill.
Trump would have been interviewed by anchor Scott Pelley and Harris would have been interviewed by correspondent Bill Whitaker.
“Our election special will broadcast the Harris interview on Monday as planned,” CBS said in a statement on Tuesday. “Our original invitation to former President Donald Trump to be interviewed on 60 Minutes stands.”
Trump's campaign argued that there was nothing "locked in" for this particular interview.
“Fake News. 60 Minutes begged for an interview, even after they were caught lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop back in 2020,” Trump's campaign communications director said in a post on X.
“They also insisted on doing live fact-checking, which is unprecedented,” he also added.
