Trump on Georgia ballot audit: 'They know the vote was corrupt'
"Republicans must fight hard and win!"
Former President Donald Trump on Friday slammed a delayed ballot audit in Georgia, claiming that Democrats there are attempting to cover up a fraudulent voting scheme and urging Republicans to continue pressing the matter.
A citizen-mounted lawsuit in that state has sought to audit nearly 150,000 absentee ballots in Fulton County, the state's most populous. A judge this month first ruled that the audit could proceed before placing a hold on the proceedings until at least next month due to filings from county officials.
Trump in his statement asked why "the Radical Left Democrats in Georgia" are "fighting so hard that there not be a Forensic Audit of 150,000 absentee ballots in Fulton County."
"There can be only one reason, and that is because they know the vote was corrupt and the audit will show it," he said. "Republicans must fight hard and win!"
President Joe Biden cinched Georgia by a razor-thin margin of under 13,000 votes. Allegations of fraud and voter malfeasance have swirled there since Election Day, though thus far no hard evidence has come out to support those claims.
