Trump gives 'total' endorsement to Rep Gosar's reelection bid one day after House censure vote
The Democrat-controlled House's vote to censure Gosar marked the first time in over a decade a member has received such punishment
Former President Trump endorsed fellow Republican and Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar one day after the was censured by the Democrat-controlled House for a violent anime-style video posted to his Twitter account.
In a statement Thursday, Trump called Gosar a "loyal supporter of our America First agenda" and "highly respected in Arizona." In his usual fashion, Trump offered his "Complete and Total Endorsement!"
The former president did not address Gosar's censuring on Wednesday that also stripped him of his assignments on the House's Natural Resources and the Oversight committees.
The video, which Gosar says has been mischaracterized as a threat, depicted an animated avatar of Gosar striking with a sword a character with New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's head. The video also depicts Gosar's character striking an enlarged picture of President Biden's head.
