Trump said two weeks ago DOJ would charge Hunter Biden with 'something small'
The former president also argues the DOJ is meddling in the 2024 election to prevent him from securing a second term.
Former President Donald Trump appeared to predict the outcome of Hunter Biden's DOJ investigation weeks in advance in a now-resurfaced post on Truth Social.
On Tuesday, the Justice Department announced that Hunter Biden struck a deal with federal prosecutors to avoid jail time by pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and admitting to a firearms charge that could be dropped pending a probation period.
Two weeks prior, Trump predicted Hunter Biden, President Biden's son, would face minimal punishment from the DOJ "to make their strike on me look 'fair.'"
"They’ll hit Hunter with something small," the former president wrote on Truth Social.
Trump was indicted earlier this month on 37 federal criminal counts in connection with his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House.
"It’s all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE," he also said in the post. "They don’t want to run against me.
