Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that the Arizona Supreme Court went too far in its decision earlier this week that criminalized most abortions in the state.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, said Monday that laws surrounding abortion should be left to the states. The next day, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a Civil War-era law that only allows abortion in cases that are necessary to save a mother's life, without exceptions for rape and incest.

When asked during a campaign event Wednesday in Atlanta whether the Arizona decision went too far, Trump said, "Yeah, they did and I think it’ll be straightened out and, as you know, it’s all about state’s rights and it will be straightened out," according to Politico.
