Trump backs displaying Ten Commandments in public schools
"BRING BACK TTC!!! MAGA2024" former President Donald Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday expressed support for displaying the Ten Commandments in public schools and other educational venues.
The Ten Commandments are a set of religious dictates recognized in Judaism and Christianity. The Biblical account asserts that they were given to Moses by God at Mt. Sinai.
"I LOVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND MANY OTHER PLACES, FOR THAT MATTER. READ IT — HOW CAN WE, AS A NATION, GO WRONG???" Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
Louisiana GOP Gov. Jeff Landry earlier this week signed a bill into law requiring the display of the 10 Commandments in public school classrooms. The legislation requires that they be displayed in “large, easily readable font," according to The Associated Press.
Trump suggested that the move could push the nation towards a religious revival.
"THIS MAY BE, IN FACT, THE FIRST MAJOR STEP IN THE REVIVAL OF RELIGION, WHICH IS DESPERATELY NEEDED, IN OUR COUNTRY. BRING BACK TTC!!! MAGA2024," he concluded.
