Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted the U.S. Supreme Court over its decision to allow House Democrats access to his tax returns, claiming that the court has become politicized and that it had "lost its honor" with the decision.

The Court this week turned down a request from Trump to block the release of those returns; they will be available to the House Ways & Means Committee at some point in the future.

In a post on Truth Social early on Wednesday morning, meanwhile, Trump blasted the court for what he said was a political decision.

"Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do!" he declared. "It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents."

"Has Joe Biden paid taxes on all of the money he made illegally from Hunter & beyond[?]" the president wrote further. "The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price. They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!"

Among the current members of the Court, 1/3 were nominated by Trump and passed during the Trump administration.
