Trump secures backing from Albuquerque Police Officers’ Association
The organization's endorsement comes on the heels of other law enforcement groups, which have lined up behind the Republican and his law and order message.
The Albuquerque Police Officers' Association on Thursday endorsed former President Donald Trump, citing his "proven track record and strong leadership."
The organization's endorsement comes on the heels of other law enforcement groups, which have lined up behind the Republican and his law and order message. The Fraternal Order of Police, for instance, endorsed him earlier this month.
"We believe that President Trump's proven track record and strong leadership make him the best candidate to address the challenges facing our nation, APOA President Shaun Willoughby wrote in an open letter announcing the endorsement.
“President Trump has consistently shown unwavering support for our police officers, advocating for policies that protect and empower those who serve on the front lines," he also said. "His commitment to law and order, coupled with his dedication to funding law enforcement initiatives, has provided our officers with the tools and resources necessary to serve and protect."
In touting the APOA endorsement, the Trump campaign lamented the state of Albuquerque, N.M., blaming Vice President Kamala Harris in her capacity as "border czar" for the rise in crime.
