Trump slams war at Libertarian Party event, says military should stay out of regime-change wars
Trump quoted Patrick Henry, saying "Give me liberty, or give me death."
Former President Donald Trump took the stage at the Libertarian National Convention where he slammed endless wars, stating that the point of the U.S. military is to defend America and its people.
"We believe the job of the United States military is not to wage endless regime change wars around the globe," Trump said during his speech. "The job of the United States military is to defend America from attack and invasion here at home."
Trump later said that property rights are fundamental to a free society and slammed President Joe Biden for the rampant inflation.
The 45th president was met with a mix of cheers and boos from the Libertarian Party crowd.
Trump is the first former president to speak at the convention.
Other speakers include Julian Assange's brother, epidemiologist Dr. Peter McCullough and Democrat-turned-independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
