Trump on Zuckerberg admission about Hunter Biden laptop: '2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED'
"Zuckerberg admits that the White House pushed to SUPPRESS HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY," Donald Trump wrote.
GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said Tuesday in response to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitting that Facebook demoted the Hunter Biden laptop story that the 2020 presidential was "rigged."
"Zuckerberg admits that the White House pushed to SUPPRESS HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY (& much more!). IN OTHER WORDS, THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED," Trump posted on Truth Social.
On Monday, Zuckerberg admitted to the House Judiciary Committee that the Biden administration "repeatedly pressured" his team for months in 2021 to censor content related to COVID-19.
He also said the Hunter Biden laptop story was demoted on Facebook because the social media company was warned by the FBI about a potential Russian disinformation operation regarding Burisma and the Biden family leading into the 2020 election.
Hunter, the son of President Biden, took his laptop to a Delaware repair in spring 2019. The owner turned over the computer's hard drive. However, a New York Post story about the matter was largely dismissed as mis- or disinformation.
Zuckerberg also said Monday he has since changed the company's policies to not immediately demote a U.S. story while waiting for fact-checkers to confirm the authenticity of the report.
Trump's reaction came after he shared a post about the Zuckerberg news from his lawyer, Alina Habba, which reads, "This is exactly what this administration (WHICH INCLUDES KAMALA) has done to our country. Censorship is what happens in communist countries not this republic. They have gagged my client, his lawyers in and out of courtrooms and his team. Now, we once again have proof that they are gagging our media and censoring America."
