Conservative pundit Steve Bannon has suggested a ticket with both former President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would decisively win the 2024 presidential contest.

"If somehow it worked out... you could get Kennedy as a running mate... and I don’t know, that is far from even technically can happen because of the structure of the Democratic and Republican parties and ballot access and all that... you could get 60 percent or higher in the country and win a massive landslide," he opined during a Sunday episode of his "War Room" show.

Kennedy in May insisted he would not run as Trump's vice president.

"Just to quell any speculation, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will I join Donald Trump on an electoral ticket," he tweeted. "Our positions on certain fundamental issues, our approaches to governance, and our philosophies of leadership could not be further apart."

His declaration, however, has not stopped some Republicans from considering him for senior government positions. Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis in July suggested he would pick the Democrat to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration if elected president.

"Yes, the medical stuff, I'm very good on that. So that does appeal to me," he told conservative radio host Clay Travis. "If you're president, sic him on the FDA if he'd be willing to serve. Or sic him on CDC."
