California to move into phase two of its reopening plan later this week
Newsom says state will loosen some pandemic restrictions later this week.
Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday said that later this week California will begin initiating phase two of the state's reopening process.
The new phase will allow some retail businesses like florists, clothing stores, and others to serve customers via curbside pickup. Companies related to the retail manufacturing and supply chain will be permitted to operate with restrictions. Offices will not reopen at this time, and eating inside dining establishment will not immediately resume.
Despite restrictions in the state, some California counties have already started allowing a variety of businesses to reopen if they practice occupancy limitations and social distancing, according to the Associated Press.
After Newsom recently ordered the closure of Orange County beaches, the governor's administration on Monday approved beach reopenings in two Orange County cities, the outlet noted.
