The senator clarified that he will be back to work in time to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett
Utah Sen. Mike Lee said Friday that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus,
The Republican lawmaker made the announcement on Twitter following President Trump saying overnight that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive.
Lee is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, led by GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham, which is set in the coming weeks to begin confirmation hearings for Trump Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
"Like so many other Utahns, I will now spend part of 2020 working from home," Lee tweeted. "I have spoke with Leader McConnell and Chairman Graham, and assured them I will be back to work in time to join my Judiciary Committee colleagues in advancing the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett in the Committee and then to the full Senate."
