DeSantis drops video ahead of expected Twitter campaign announcement
Reports emerged on Tuesday that DeSantis would participate in a Twitter Space with Musk at 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday during which he is expected to officially declare his candidacy.
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis released a video on Tuesday ahead of an expected campaign announcement scheduled for Wednesday that will reportedly occur as part of a Twitter conversation with platform owner Elon Musk.
Entitled "America Is Worth the Fight," the thirty-second ad depicts the governor preparing backstage to address a large crowd before charging out from behind the curtain. In a voiceover, a narrator discusses hope for the future.
"They call it faith because in the face of darkness, you can see that brighter future, a faith that our best days lay ahead of us. But is it worth the fight? Do I have the courage? Is it worth the sacrifice?" the narrator asks.
"America has been worth it every single time," a second voice affirms.
The video concludes with a prompt for viewers to text "LAUNCH" to a six-digit number.
