University of Chicago student group hosts race discussion in which white students not invited

A University of Chicago student group is reportedly hosting a discussion this month on race relations in which only students who are black, indigenous and people of color are invited.

The event is being hosted by the minority student group UChicago United and appears to be part of a large effort, two-week effort titled "Dis-Orientation," according to an online signup sheet.

The event is described as "BIPOC-ONLY space for honest discussion of navigating race at UChicago between new and old students."

BIPOC is an acronym for black, indigenous and people of color.

Other related events include: Anti-Militarism 101, Radical Story Hour, and a tour of the "histories of injustice and resistance that are hidden all around campus," according to FoxNews.com.

UChicago United, which was founded in 2017, describes itself as "students of color committed to racial justice at the University of Chicago and the surrounding Chicago area."

The organization also distributed a 2022 Dis-Orientation handbook that is over 60 pages. The handbook features sections about gentrification, policing, abortion access and "Justice in Palestine."
