Alaska GOP Sen. Murkowski says she’ll vote for Joe Manchin in 2024 if there's a Trump-Biden rematch
"I would go with Joe Manchin," Lisa Murkowski said during an interview with PBS.
Alaska GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski says if there is a 2024 rematch with President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, she will vote for West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin.
Murkowski said during an interview with PBS' Margaret Hoover that aired Friday that she would vote for her colleague if there was a rematch with Trump and Biden.
“I tell you, if it’s a matchup between Biden and Trump, I know exactly where I’d go,” she said. “I would go with Joe Manchin.”
“I am one who doesn’t like to use my vote for the lesser of evils,” Murkowski continued. “I want to be proactive in who I think could do the job. I think Manchin could do the job. But will our system allow for that? That I don’t know.”
Murkowski said most average Americans are not for Trump and Biden as the nominees.
"Think about it: If we go into a 2024 scenario where it’s basically a redo of 2020 between Trump and Biden, what does that say? That we have nobody better than these two?” she said.
