President Joe Biden will reportedly host a fundraiser next week with Pennsylvania Democratic nominee John Fetterman, who is facing off against Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz for U.S. Senate.

Biden will join Lt. Gov. Fetterman in Philadelphia on Oct. 20, a senior administration official told CNBC on Tuesday.

The Senate race is tightening as questions are arising about Fetterman's fitness for office amid continued verbal slips as recovers from a stroke he suffered in May.

Oz, a former television star who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is behind Fetterman by 3.7 points, according to a Real Clear Politics poll average. However, when calculating in the underestimated GOP vote, Oz is 2.4 points ahead of Fetterman, the polling group shows.

The candidates are vying to fill the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Pat Toomey in the swing state, which Biden won in 2020.

Oz acknowledged Biden's planned visit via Twitter and said the administration's "agenda has given us higher prices at the pump, 40-year high inflation, and dangerous streets."
