Elon Musk hands out second $1 million prize in 2 days for random people who signed his petition

Billionaire Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla and the owner of X, formerly Twitter, has given out on Sunday the second of 16 one-million dollar checks he is planning to give to random swing-state residents for signing the petition from his political action committee, every day from now through the November 5 election. 

The petition asks signers to pledge to uphold the First and Second Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, free speech and the right to bear arms, according to the New York Post. Musk has been touting these rights while out on the campaign trail stumping for Donald Trump for president. 

“All you have to do is sign a petition in support of the constitution,” Musk said after handing out the second million-dollar prize Sunday.

On Saturday, during a town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he made the announcement. “So, I have a surprise for you, which is that we’re going to be awarding a million dollars randomly to people who have signed the petition every day from now until the election,” Musk said at the town hall, according to The Daily Wire. 

He talked about how difficult a time he had getting out the word about the petition because, he said, “legacy media won’t report on it.”

“This news, I think, is gonna really fly,” Musk added.

Musk said that he has been dubbed “public enemy No. 2” by the press, presumably for his activism and support for Trump.  

“Enemy No. 2 of what? Like democracy? All I’m literally trying to do is I’m upholding the Constitution to ensure we have a free and fair election,” he said.
