Harry Dunn, a veteran of the U.S. Capitol Police who defended the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, lost a Maryland U.S. House primary to State Sen. Sarah Elfreth in the 3rd District.

Elfreth was supported by the United Democracy Project, which is a super PAC connected to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. The group spent more than $4 million on her campaign.

Outgoing Rep. John Sarbanes, D-Md., currently holds the seat.
