Former DNC Chairman Perez eyeing run for Maryland governor
Perez did not seek to return as head of the DNC following the election win for President Joe Biden.
Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez is considering a gubernatorial run for liberal-leaning Maryland governor, which next year will lose it GOP Gov. Larry Hogan because of term limits.
"I live here in Maryland," Perez told "The Bill Press Pod. "We'll see what happens."
Perez did not seek to return as head of the DNC following the election win for President Joe Biden.
Former South Carolina state Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison, who lost his Senate race last year, is now running the DNC.
The field for Maryland governor remains open, with more than 12 Democratic candidates mentioned as potential candidates, among them state Comptroller Peter Franchot, who has already said he will run.
Hogan has been considering a run for president.
