Former U.S. Ambassador Richard Grenell says the Log Cabin Republicans can be key in helping to get suburban women to vote for GOP candidates.
"The Republican Party talks a lot about, 'How do we reach suburban women?' and what's the magic elixir to try to reach them," Grenell said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. "And I would argue that Log Cabin is one of the ways to reach them."
Log Cabin Republicans is an organization affiliated with the GOP that advocates for the LGBTQ community.
"We have a chapter in most major and even minor cities," Grenell said. "Our membership is exploding. And it's exploding not just with gay and lesbian men and women, but with suburban women ... straight suburban women who support us."
Over the weekend, former first lady Melania Trump held a fundraiser in Florida with the Log Cabin Republicans, which raised over one million dollars, said Grenell, who was the U.S. ambassador to Germany in the Trump administration.
Grenell predicted that former President Donald Trump would get almost 50% of the gay and lesbian vote for the upcoming 2024 election.
"What the message really is, is that if you are gay, or lesbian in America, you're not oppressed," he said. "You live in the greatest country in the world to be gay. Your flag. ... the American flag, is the flag that stands for freedom and liberty to be whoever you want."
