Garvey debates Schiff in uphill bid for Republican to win California Senate seat

Former MLB player Steve Garvey is set to debate Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on Tuesday evening in his uphill bid for a Republican to win a California U.S. Senate seat.

Schiff has a wide lead in the most recent polls.

Schiff and Garvey received the highest amount of votes in the primary and went on to face-off in the general election.

ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor Marc Brown will moderate the debate at 5pm pacific time.

A panel of journalists from across the state, including KGO-TV anchor Kristen Sze, KFSN-TV anchor Warren Armstrong and Univision Los Angeles anchor Gabriela Teissier, will join Brown during the debate.
