Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was declared the winner Sunday night of the District of Columbia's 2024 GOP presidential primary.

The Associated Press declared Haley the winner after the D.C. Republican Party released the results.

The win was Haley's first of the primary season, in which front-running candidate and former President Donald Trump had previously been undefeated.

The former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador picked up 19 delegates, However, the victory is unlikely to stop Trump's march to the party nomination.

Trump lost the 2020 Washington, D.C., primary to then-candidate Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio.

Haley campaigned in D.C. on Friday. Trump did not campaign in the nation's capitol.
