Harris asserts Trump 'does not know what he is talking about' when it comes to women's health
“When you listen to Donald Trump talk, it becomes increasingly clear, I think, he has no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to the health care of women in America," Harris said.
Vice President Kamala Harris told a Wisconsin audience on Thursday night that former President Donald Trump does not "know what he is talking about" when it comes women's healthcare.
The comment was a rebuttal to Trump's claim that he is the "father of [in vitro fertilization]," and his assertion that everybody wanted the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade during a town hall in Georgia, which consisted of a female-only audience.
The town hall, which was moderated by Fox News host Harris Faulkner and aired Wednesday, focused on issues important to women, such as abortion, healthcare, immigration, and the economy.
Harris played the clips from the town hall during her rally in Green Bay, according to The Hill, and claimed Trump was responsible for in-vitro fertilization being at risk because of the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade.
“First of all, no, Donald, everybody did not want Roe v. Wade to be overturned, women are dying of sepsis because they cannot get the health care they need,” Harris said. “Couples just trying to grow their family are being cut off in the middle of IVF treatment. ... Now the man calls himself the father of IVF? I mean what does that even mean?
“When you listen to Donald Trump talk, it becomes increasingly clear, I think, he has no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to the health care of women in America," she added.
The vice president also appeared on Fox News this week, where she was interviewed by Bret Baier on Wednesday night, which brought 7.1 million viewers.
Harris also argued that she would be a president for all Americans, regardless of their gender or political views.
"The American people are exhausted with his gaslighting, exhausted," she said. "Enough."
