Harris says she plans to schedule interview before end of August but hasn't held news conference
Harris has not done a formal sit-down interview or press conference where she fields questions from journalists in an open setting since emerging as the Democratic nominee
Vice President Kamala Harris told reporters she plans to schedule a sit-down interview before the end of August but her campaign still has not scheduled a news conference.
“I’ve talked to my team. I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” Harris said during an informal gaggle with the press before she boarded Air Force Two to Arizona on Thursday.
Harris has not done a formal sit-down interview or press conference where she fields questions from journalists in an open setting since emerging as the Democratic presidential nominee after President Biden dropped out on July 20.
Trump held a news conference on Thursday at Mar-a-Lago.
"She can't do an interview; she's barely competent," Trump said of Harris on Thursday prior to the press conference.
Harris and former President Trump, the GOP nominee, are scheduled for their first debate Sept. 10 on ABC.
