Vice President Kamala Harris, former senator from California, supported taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for detained immigrants and federal prisoners as well as defunding Immigration and Custom Enforcement  (ICE) and ending immigration detention, according to an American Civil Liberties Union questionnaire she filled out in 2019.

The ACLU uploaded the questionnaire last month after President Biden dropped out of the presidential race and Harris became the presumptive Democratic nominee, according to a CNN report.

CNN noted that Harris was asked at an ACLU town hall even tin 2019 if she supported adding a “third gender” to federal identification cards.

“Sure,” Harris answered. “I have my entire life and career been an ally and I see the issue of LGBTQ rights as a fundamental civil rights and human rights issue, period."
