Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor once again is touting the possibility of a presidential run in Ireland.

"Ireland, your family in the top office," McGregor wrote Friday on the social media platform X. "President McGregor has a nice ring to it."

McGregor is the first fighter to hold two simultaneous championship belts in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This isn't the first time he has hinted at entering politics.

Earlier this month, he asked his 10.4 million social media followers if they would vote for him for president.

“35. Young, active, passionate, fresh skin in the game,” he boasted. The majority of his followers said yes, with X owner Elon Musk replying: "I think you could take them all single-handed. Not even fair."

Potential rivals for the presidency, the MMA star noted, include Gerry Adams, an ex-IRA member, Bertie Ahern, the ex-Taoiseach (Irish PM) accused of corruption, and Enda Kenny, another ex-Taoiseach.

McGregor has been making headlines recently for speaking out against the current Irish government, specifically over the significant surge in immigrants entering the country — a 50% increase year-on-year.
