Kamala Harris makes surprise virtual appearance at DNC after roll call is completed
“I thank everyone there and here for believing in what we can do together,” Harris said in a video that was streamed live from her rally in Milwaukee. “We are so honored to be your nominees. Together we will chart a new way forward.”
Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Tuesday night made a surprise cameo after the conclusion of the Democratic Convention's celebratory roll call.
Harris, who became the Democratic nominee earlier this month during a virtual roll call, thanked the delegates for supporting her after President Joe Biden withdrew his bid for reelection.
“I thank everyone there and here for believing in what we can do together,” Harris said in a video that was streamed live from her rally in Milwaukee. “We are so honored to be your nominees. Together we will chart a new way forward.”
The appearance comes after she made a surprise address on the first night of the Chicago convention. During the speech she thanked Biden for his "historic leadership" and "lifetime of service to our nation."
The convention will conclude on Thursday with a formal address from Harris, but her husband Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will address the audience later Tuesday.
