Kennedy clan reacts to RFK Jr's endorsement of Trump: 'sad ending to a sad story'
The Kennedy clan has been united in their support for the Democratic Party, despite Robert Kennedy's campaign.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s siblings issued a joint statement on Friday, condemning their brother for suspending his presidential campaign in order to endorse former President Donald Trump.
Kennedy launched his own independent presidential bid last year, and has consistently ranked in third place nationwide, after Trump and the Democratic presidential candidate. The rest of the Kennedy clan has been united in their support for the Democratic Party, despite RFK Jr.'s campaign.
The statement, which was shared on social media by Kerry Kennedy, called his endorsement of Trump a "sad ending to a sad story."
“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise and national pride." the statement said. "We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story."
The statement was signed by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Courtney Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, and Rory Kennedy.
