Democratic New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan on Tuesday night decisively won reelection against Trump-backed Republican candidate Don Bolduc.

The Associated Press called the race for Hassan at about 11 p.m., with 56% of the votes counted.

Hassan had 55.6% of the vote, compared to 42.9% for Bolduc.

Last minute polls had shown Bolduc with a narrow lead or within striking distance, prompting the GOP to invest more into ad buys to bolster him.

Hassan first won election in 2016, narrowly defeating Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte.
