Former President Trump is leading President Biden nationally and most voters view Trump's indictments as an effort to keep him from winning in November, according to new polling data released by McLaughlin and Associates.

"Trump still leads Biden in our latest poll Trump 47%, Biden 43%," wrote John McLaughlin and Jim McLaughlin in a summary of their latest polling data released on Monday.

"The polling data shows a majority of voters want the political prosecutions of Trump to stop. At the same time voters have factored Joe Biden’s legal persecution of Trump into their voting calculus," they wrote.

The pollsters noted that the national poll of 1,000 likely voters was conducted between May 9 and 15 and it is "+/-3.1% at the 95% confidence interval."

In addition, 53% of voters surveyed think Biden wants to stop Trump from "winning by putting him in jail." According to the finds, 33% of respondent said that Biden "doesn’t want to put Trump in jail."
