A tracking poll shows Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell with a favorability rating of just 7%, ahead of GOP Senate's scheduled leadership balloting Wednesday.

The poll is from the Oakland-based group Civiqs, founded by Markos Moulitsas, who also founded the liberal-leaning political blog site Daily Kos.

The tracker, which begins in January 2018, show 81% of all 220,876 respondents now have an unfavorable view of McConnell, the longest-serving GOP leader in Senate history.

Among Republican respondents, the Kentucky lawmaker had a 17% favorability rating and a 61% unfavorable rating.

Among Democrat respondents, only 1% had a favorable view of McConnell, and 95% did not.

The GOP Senate leadership election is scheduled for Wednesday. It is expected to take place despite calls from many conservative groups to delay the election until the Georgia U.S. Senate runoff election is complete.
