The Minnesota Republican Party endorsed Royce White, a former NBA player and Black Lives Matter activist, in his attempt to oust incumbent Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

White won more than two-thirds of the vote Saturday in a bid that comes two years after he unsuccessfully ran in a GOP primary in a bid to unseat Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, according to MPR News

Republicans endorsed White "with reservation," which the former NBA player disagreed with.

"I hope we can change it in the future because the same reservations they had about me would surely fall on Donald Trump as well if he was running in this race," White said.

"The reality is we need people now more than ever that can’t be bought," White, who has some personal debt problems, also said. "They don’t have a price and I can’t stress that to you enough."
