New Jersey Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer announces run for governor
“Living in Jersey has become too damn expensive," Gottheimer said. "We pay too much in taxes, too much to live. It’s time for a reboot.”
Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., announced his campaign for governor of New Jersey on Friday.
"Today, I’m launching my campaign for Governor to lower your taxes, lower your costs, and to make Jersey affordable again," Gottheimer said on the social media platform, X. "I will help you and your family get ahead and I’ll do it while protecting our Jersey Values."
Regarded as a moderate Democratic, he promised to fight for abortion and improving the transit system, according to Politico.
“Living in Jersey has become too damn expensive," he said. "We pay too much in taxes, too much to live. It’s time for a reboot.”
Gottheimer has often stressed bipartisanship in Congress and started the “Problem Solver’s Caucus” which has moderate Democrats and Republicans.
“I’ll be an active, get-it-done, problem-solving governor,” he said. “New ideas and endless energy are in my DNA.”
