New Jersey Dems pick state Sen. Nellie Pou to replace late Rep. Bill Pascrell on ballot

New Jersey Democrats chose state Sen. Nellie Pou to replace the late Rep. Bill Pascrell on ballot on Thursday.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, endorsed Pou for the job on Wednesday.
“Nellie Pou is the ideal public servant to succeed Rep. Pascrell and continue his life’s mission of building a stronger, fairer, and more inclusive New Jersey,” said Murphy in a statement.
She was officially nominated for the 9th Congressional District seat during a closed-door special convention on Thursday night.
Pascrell, a longtime member of the House of Representatives, died on Aug. 21.
