PolitiFact fact checked Republicans more often than Democrats so far this election cycle: Study

The website PolitiFact has fact checked Republicans more often than Democrats so far this election cycle, according to a new study.

Politifact articles from April to September revealed that most of the politicians or public officials with a “Truth-O-Meter” rating were Republicans, according to the Media Research Center/NewsBusters analysis.

The study found that Politifact fact checked Republicans 107 times compared to 75 times for Democrats since April.

Among the GOP, Politifact rated them true or mostly true 10.3% of the time, half true 7.5% and mostly false, false, or pants on fire 82.2%.

Democrats were rated true or mostly true 36% of the time, half true 22.7% and mostly false, false, or pants on fire 41.3%.
