British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Friday he takes responsibility for the results in the election results, which saw the Labour Party suffer huge losses to the anti-establishment, anti-immigration Reform UK party, but he has no plans to quit. 

Starmer said voters sent a message about their dissatisfaction with how things are going, but leaving now would "plunge the country into chaos," the Associated Press reported. 

The election results could change as tallies come from the majority of local councils, including London, which is a Labour Party stronghold. 

Based on the partial results, Reform UK won hundreds of local council seats in working-class areas in the north of England. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, said the outcomes marked a "historic change in British politics."
