Rep. Mike Collins says GOP has energy for Trump, points to Georgia's massive early voting numbers

Congressman Mike Collins, R-Ga., said Friday that the GOP has a lot of energy to vote for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, referencing Georgia's early voting numbers. 

"We've had more Georgians vote in 2022 than ever before and just yesterday ... we broke all kinds of records," Collins said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. 

It was reported on Friday that over one million votes have been cast in Georgia through early voting. 

Early voting began in Georgia on Oct. 15 and over 300,000 ballots were cast on the first day, according to The Hill. The Peach State went to Trump in 2016 and went to President Joe Biden in 2020.

"Everywhere we go when we see yard signs," Collins said, referencing Trump signs. "You'd see people put out maybe a yard sign for Trump. This time around, I'm seeing the entire yard covered with Trump yard signs."

Collins encouraged people to drop absentee ballots off in-person and not mail them in. 

"We're chasing those absentee ballots to make sure that they get them back in and not mail them in," Collins said. "We're encouraging people go and drop that rascal off. If you can't make it to vote early and you're headed out, drop it off in person."
