RNC outraises DNC by more than $1 million in April
The RNC also outraised the DNC in 2021 as well by about $1 million total
The Republican National Committee (RNC) raised $14.2 million in April, outraising the Democrat National Committee (DNC) by more than one million dollars.
While the DNC raised $13 million in April according to Federal Election Commission files obtained by The Hill, it had more cash on hand than Repulicans at the beginning of May with $65.6 million compared to the RNC's $43.7 million.
The DNC also spent less money than the RNC in April at $12.8 million versus $15.5 million, respectively.
The fundraising numbers come as Republicans ramp up efforts to take back the House majority in the 2022 midterm elections.
The RNC also outraised the DNC for all of 2021 by about $1 million, Fox News reported.
However, Republicans may not be able to continue on the upward fundraising trajectory for May.
Within hours of the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion signaling that the justices are poised to overturn the abortion precedent set in Roe v. Wade, the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue raised more than $7 million, CNBC observed.
