Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in talks with Libertarian Party about pursuing nomination: report
Kennedy Jr. recently secured enough signatures to get on the Arizona and Georgia ballots.
Democrat-turned-independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering pursuing the Libertarian Party nomination, according to reports.
Kennedy met with Libertarian Party Chairwoman Angela McArdle at the end of February after he appeared at the California party convention, Politico reports.
The Libertarian Party has always made it on the ballot in all 50 states during presidential elections. McArdle referred to Kennedy Jr. as a "real dark horse."
“The Kennedy campaign is keeping all its options open,” Kennedy campaign spokesperson Stefanie Spear told Politico.
Kennedy recently secured enough signatures to get on the Arizona and Georgia ballots. A switch to the Libertarian Party ticket could get him on the ballot in all 50 states.
He dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary last year to run as an independent candidate.
