Sarah Huckabee Sanders endorses former boss Trump for president
Trump, who is leading the GOP primary field, had endorsed Sanders' 2022 bid for governor.
Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders endorsed her former boss, Donald Trump, in the 2024 presidential election, stating that it is a choice of "normal versus crazy."
Sanders, who served as White House press secretary from 2017 to 2019, will join Trump at a rally Wednesday in Hialeah, Florida, as he skips the third Republican presidential primary debate that evening in Miami.
"It’s not a question between right versus left anymore. It’s normal versus crazy, and President Biden and the left are doubling down on crazy," she said, CNN reported Monday. "The time has come to return to the normal policies of the Trump era which created a safer, stronger, and more prosperous America, and that’s why I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President."
Trump, who is leading the GOP primary field, had endorsed Sanders' 2022 bid for governor.
"We had great success in the White House and it’s an honor to have Sarah’s endorsement. I look forward to having her at the big rally in Hialeah this Wednesday," he said.
News about her endorsement comes after Iowa GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds voiced her support for Trump's top rival, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
