Sen. Bernie Sanders predicts Biden could still win 'big' against Trump in 2024 election
I think there’s a chance he could win big," Sen. Bernie Sanders said.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., said that he still believes that President Joe Biden can defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.
During an interview with The New Yorker, Sanders made it clear he wants Biden to stay in the race and said he could "win big."
“I think he is the best candidate and I think if he runs a strong, effective campaign focused on the needs of the working class of this country, he will win big,” the Vermont senator said. "And I think there’s a chance he could win big."
Sanders ran for president in 2016 in the Democratic primary and again in 2020. He has been showing more support for Biden over the years during his presidency.
He said that the media should focus on Biden's records and accomplishments rather than his bad debate performance against Trump.
“What the media should be doing, in my view, is focusing on the contrast between Joe Biden, what his record is and what his vision is for the future, not just what happened in a debate,” Sanders said.
“And if you want to talk about cognitive capabilities and you want to talk about things that people say, take a hard look at Donald Trump as well," he continued.
