Small business group endorses rival Democrat in AOC primary race, trolls her with billboards
One billboard accuses Ocasio-Cortez of ignoring “rising crime,” and “illegal immigration chaos."
A small business group is endorsing the Democratic primary challenger in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's, D-N.Y., upcoming race and has started trolling her with billboards.
The conservative advocacy group, the Job Creators Network, has spent roughly $100,000 going after Ocasio-Cortez, including the use of billboards in Manhattan's Times Square, according to the New York Post.
“Hey AOC!” the billboard reads. “Time to pack it up. Vote Democrat. Martin Dolan now!”
Dolan is challenging Ocasio-Cortez in the upcoming Democratic primary that is set to take place on June 25.
Another billboard accuses Ocasio-Cortez of ignoring “rising crime,” and “illegal immigration chaos."
"Billionaires and big money continue to pour tens of millions of dollars against me cycle after cycle," she responded on the social media platform, X. "Yet we win."
"Why?" she continued. "Because in my entire time in Congress, I refuse to take a dime from corporate lobbyists. We put the people first. The average donation to my campaign is $16."
The billboards were actually paid for by a super PAC connected to the Job Creators Network, known as the Keep America America Action Fund, according to the outlet.
“AOC is a threat to American small businesses and America’s way of life,” Job Creators Network CEO Alfredo Ortiz told The Post. “Her policies are responsible for the crime, migrant, and economic crises burdening her constituents in New York and around the nation.”
“Democrat Marty Dolan is a much-needed voice of moderation that will help small businesses and working families in New York City and beyond,” he added. “New York City residents looking to stop the bleeding and undo AOC’s damage should vote for Dolan now.”
