Stefanik: FBI ignoring questions about Iran hacking Trump campaign to help Democrats
"The FBI has functioned like an arm of the Democrat Party," Stefanik says
New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik, chair of the House GOP conference, charged that the FBI is ignoring her questions about the Iranian hack of the Trump campaign to help Democrats with the election around the corner.
Stefanik said on Wednesday that she has asked the agency "very basic, easy" questions about the hack but hasn't received a response.
"I believe there was politicization from the Biden-Kamala Harris administration that they were notified prior to the Trump campaign to tip the scales," she said, according to Fox News Digital. "The FBI has functioned like an arm of the Democrat Party."
The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed that Iran was behind a cyber attack on the campaign in September and indicted three Iranian nationals in connection to the incident.
