Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Monday announced that he will deploy a team of legal experts at polling locations in major counties on Election Day, who are equipped to enforce Texas election laws should issues arise.

Texas Republicans have argued that Democrats intend to commit widespread voter fraud in the state, including by allowing nonresidents to vote. Paxton has sued the Biden-Harris administration for not complying with a request for information on the citizenship status of certain state residents.

Paxton said the "Election Day Rapid Response Legal Team" will be prepared to take "immediate action" on issues, including ones that were reported in past elections, such as ballot shortages, extended polling location closures, and the improper extension of voting hours.

“There is no issue more important and more fundamental to our nation than election integrity,” Paxton said in a statement. “Our Election Day Rapid Response Legal Team will be on the frontline on November 5th. We will defend the ballot box from any bad actors seeking to unduly influence or illegally undermine Texas elections.”

The attorney general added that the team will work with the Texas Secretary of State to ensure that all issues are resolved quickly.
