Five states in next month's midterms will include ballot initiatives on whether transgender athletes can compete in women's sports and whether minors should be allowed to undergo transgender medical treatments.

Voters in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska and Washington state are expected to decide whether transgender athletes can compete against biological women. Voters in Arizona, Colorado and Nebraska will also determine whether there will be coed teams, which would allow athletes to compete on the same team regardless of sex.

Voters in Colorado and Missouri are set to vote on gender medicine, including whether healthcare professionals or other people can knowingly perform, prescribe, administer, or provide any surgery to a minor "for the purpose of altering biological sex characteristics," according to the Daily Signal.

In Missouri, voters are also expected to weigh in on whether the state legislature can restrict abortions, except in cases of emergency, fetal anomaly, rape, or incest.

Election Day is  Nov. 3. Early voting in some states began as early as Tuesday.
